YMCA Champs

Last Friday marked the end of the fall semester here at R-MC. What better way for our swimmers to celebrate than to work concessions for 12 hours the next day?! We hosted the championship meet for the Richmond YMCA swim league on Saturday, and the team worked concessions all day. They did a great job with it, and it was actually a lot of fun. Two observations from the day: a) I've never seen so many people in the Brock Center before, and b) it's amazing how much food those kids can eat at a swim meet.

Here are a couple pics from the day:

ODAC Swimmer of the Week - Sarah Almond

Congratulations to our very own Sarah Almond, who was named the ODAC Swimmer of the Week for the week of November 25th. Sarah was recognized based on her efforts at the YJ Invitational on Nov. 21st and 22nd. Sarah was a perfect 7 for 7 at the meet. Individually, she won both the 50 and 100 freestyles (25.66 and 56.26). She also anchored all 5 winning relays. The 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 800 free relay each broke the previous Estes Aquatic Center pool record. Not a bad way to finish off the first semester.
